Richard Hunter

Richard "Rick" J. Hunter, 74, of Exeter Township, passed away in his home on Wednesday, April 2, 2025 after a long battle with cancer.

Rick was the loving husband of Kathryn "Kate" A. (Dybalski) Hunter and the father of the late Michelle C. Hunter, Jayme L. Hunter, and Eric J. Hunter (all of Reading). Rick is also survived by his sister, Mary Lou Talarigo of Reading, four grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Born in Reading on September 17th, 1950, to the late Harold W. and Dorothy M. (Keiser) Hunter, Rick was raised alongside his sisters, the late Ethel M. Kriebel and Mary Lou Talarigo. He attended Holy Name High School and graduated in 1968.

Rick worked as a furnace operator at CarTech for 30 years before retiring in 2002. He spent his golden years taking care of his granddaughter, Josephine Hunter, who lived with Rick and Kate. In his free time, he enjoyed woodworking, working with computers, playing cards, gardening, and cheering on the Pittsburgh Steelers during football season. He attended NorthStar United Methodist Church in Exeter. Above all else, Rick loved spending time with his family and sitting outside on the porch, chatting with friends and neighbors. He will be greatly missed by his family and all of those who knew him.
