Richard Raymond "Dick" Hinnershitz, 71, formerly of Muhlenberg Township died December 9, 2012 in his Venice, FL residence. He was the husband of Nancy J. (Urbanik) Hinnershitz whom he married October 21, 1972. Born July 15, 1941 in Reading, he was a son of the late Raymond H. and Sarah C. (Maurer) Hinnershitz.
Dick was a 1960 graduate of Reading High School and a graduate of McCann School of Business and attended Penn State University, Reading.
He was employed as a credit manager with Brenntag Northeast, Inc., formerly Textile Chemical Company, for 39 years, retiring in June, 2004.
Dick was also employed with the Reading Phillies and Albright College, working at football and basketball games.
He was a member of West Reading/Wyomissing Rotary Club, where he was former President.
Dick was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, where he was on church council.
He enjoyed golfing and was particularly proud of his "hole-in-one" at Capri Isles Golf Course. He was a Phillies and Eagles fan, loved telling jokes and most of all loved being a grandpa.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his three children: Rebecca, wife of Frank Welton of Rapid City, SD; Gregory Hinnershitz of Miami, FL and Shari, wife of Joshua Holly of Blandon.
Other survivors include his four grandchildren: Jacob, Kathryn, Kayla and Natalie.
He is also survived by his brother, Barry Hinner of Exeter Township.
Services will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. in Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Tuckerton and Stoudt's Ferry Bridge Roads, Muhlenberg Township. A viewing will be held Monday evening from 6:00-8:00 at Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale. Burial will be in Laureldale Cemetery, Muhlenberg Township.
