Richard Edward Hilton, 74, died May 6th at 3:50 pm in his residence at 171 Thomas Place, Sinking Spring, Pa 19608.

He was the husband of Patricia Anne (Strickler) Hilton.

Born in Brooklyn, New York, he was a son of the late Remus Emil and Dorothy Mae (Kelley) Hiltunen.

Hilton was a 1947 graduate of Cathedral High School, Omaha, Nebraska and attended Creighton University, Omaha, Nebraska and Albright College, Reading.

He worked in the Advertising Department as a Writer, Photographer and Public Relations Specialist for over 30 years at Rockwell International, Wyomissing; General Battery, Laureldale and Dick Hilton Associates, Sinking Spring, last working June 2002.

Hilton was a member of St. Ignatius Loyola Roman Catholic Church, Whitfield, where he served as a Lector, Usher and a member of the choir.

He was a singer with the Berks County Opera, performing for over 7 years.

Hilton was a volunteer for a number of years at the Berks Literacy Council.

He is also survived by three sons, Richard D. of Lyndon, Vermont, Thomas M. of Morgantown and James K. of Exeter Township.

Other survivors include three daughters, Mary E. (Hilton) Wolfe of Exeter Township, Kelley F. (Hilton) Huseman of Womelsdorf and Alison P. (Hilton) Genova of Spring Township.

There are also three half-sisters, Carol (Hilton) Cavanaugh of Tucson, Arizona, Kathy (Hilton) Rice of Phoenix, Arizona and Susan (Hilton) Salnick of Groveland, California.

Hilton is also survived by 14 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

He was predeceased by two sons, Robert Leonard Hilton, who died in 1958 and Daniel Anthony Hilton, who died in 1959.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 10:00 am in St. Ignatius Loyola Roman Catholic Church, Whitfield. Viewing 9:00 am until time of Mass. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Exeter Township. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Hospice, 420 North Park Road, Suite 101, Wyomissing, Pa 19610 or to St. Ignatius Loyola R.C. Church, 2810 St. Albans Drive, Sinking Spring, Pa 19608.
