Richard M. Heckler

Richard M. Heckler, 67, passed away peacefully on March 14, 2022. A lifelong resident of West Reading, he was predeceased by his parents, Ammon and Elizabeth Heckler, and brother, Thomas Heckler. Richard is survived by his siblings: Gerald Heckler, husband to Jill; Linda Calderon, wife to George; and David Heckler, husband of the late Kristine; and nieces and nephews: Matthew, Michele, Jillian, Christopher, Amanda, and Melissa.

Richard retired from Kline's Auto Body Supply in 2014 where he managed the store for over 30 years. He was also a trustee of the West Reading Fire Department Social Quarters. Being an avid sports fan, Rich helped to manage the West Reading Summer Basketball B League for many years, and played basketball, baseball, and football at Wyomissing Area High School.

A Memorial Service for Richard Heckler and his mother, Elizabeth Heckler, will be held at Kuhn Funeral Home in West Reading on April 9, 2022, from 1:00-3:00PM. Elizabeth's service was delayed until April 9, due to previous covid concerns. The family would like to extend deepest thanks to Rich's caregivers from Mifflin Court and Tower Health, as well as the caring support staff and nurses from Tower Health Hospice.
