Richard H. Henne, 85, of Mechanicsburg, formerly of Wyomissing, passed away on May 3rd at Bethany Skilled Nursing, Mechanicsburg.

His wife Virginia J. (Straw) Henne passed away on May 9, 2004.

Born in West Reading, he was the son of the late Elmer and Grace (Reber) Henne.

He is a graduate of the Stonier Graduate School of Banking at Rutgers University; the Commercial Bank Management Program and the Graduate School of Business at Columbia University; The Pennsylvania School of Banking at Bucknell University; and The Pennsylvania State Police Academy, Hershey, Pa.

Richard was the Vice President at Dauphin Deposit Bank, Harrisburg, for 19 years until his retirement in 1986.

He was a member of Chapel Hill U.C.C, Camp Hill.

Richard was a member of the Reading Lodge 549, F & AM, Scottish Rite Bodies, Valley of Reading, Zembo Temple, A.A.O.N.M.S, and the Zembo Luncheon Club.

He was active in Banking circles and served in numerous Professional, Fraternal, and Community Leadership positions for many years.

Richard was an Army Air Corps, 20th Air Force, Veteran of World War II.

He is survived by one daughter, Lynn (Henne) wife of Andrew Beres, Etters, PA.

There is also one nephew, Bud Leightheiser, Wyomissing.

Richard was predeceased by his sister, Edith Leightheiser.

There will be a funeral service on Monday at 1:30 p.m. at the Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading. Burial will be in Hain's Church Cemetery, Wernersville.
