Richard P. Guinther, 92, formerly of Reading, died September 26, 2010 in Divine Providence Hospice, Williamsport, PA.
His wife, Evelyn M. (Miller) Guinther, died March 3, 1996.
Born in Rosedale, PA, he was a son of the late Fred and Gertrude (Weller) Guinther.
He was the owner/operator of American Cleaners and Dyers, Reading for 35 years retiring in April of 1981.
Richard was a great fisherman and hunter; he caught the largest Marlin ever recorded in the state of Maryland and was recognized by the state for his accomplishment.
He is survived by two children, Patricia, wife of Dale Jezick, Williamsport and Paul, husband of Brenda Guinther, Portland, OR. Four grandchildren, Jonathan, Jared, Virginia and Matthew also survive him.
Services will be Thursday at 11:30 a.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading. Burial will be in Laureldale Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday from 11 to 11:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Online condolences may be recorded at www.kuhnfuneralhome.com.
