Richard C. Good

Richard C. Good, 80, former Fire Chief of Sinking Spring, passed away April 30, 2016 in the Reading Health System.

He was the beloved husband of Jane D. (Firing) Good for 61 year.

Born in South Heidelberg Township, he was the son of the late James C. and Lillian M. (Allwein) Good.

Richard was a member of the Sinking Spring Fire Company for 53 years, Chief for 11 years and he also served as Assistant Chief. He was also a member of the Berks County Firemen's Association and St. John's Reformed Church, Sinking Spring.

He was employed at Hofmann Industries as a paint machine operator for 50 years.

In addition to his wife he is survived by his two sons, Dean R. Good, Sinking Spring, and Craig R. Good, Dallas, PA; four grandsons, Scott C. Good, South Heidelberg Twp.; Buddy D., Good, South Heidelberg Twp.; Barry C. Good, Shillington; Jeremy C. Good; Reading, six great-grandchildren, Tanner, Nicholas, Alexis, Aiven, Kylie and Savannah Good. He is also survived by his brother, Robert C. Good, a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Marvin and Dolly Kimmel; four nieces, one nephew and several great nieces and nephews.

Richard was preceded in death by one sister, one brother, one nephew and one niece.

Services will be held on Wednesday May 4, 2016 at 11 a.m. in the St. John's Reformed Church, 4001 Penn Ave., Sinking Spring, PA 19608, with interment to follow at Pleasant View Cemetery. Rev. Robert Ziehmer will be the officiant. A viewing will be from 9-11 a.m. in the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Western Berks Fire Company, 111 Stitzer Ave, Wernersville, PA 19565 or St. Johns Reformed Church address above. Edward J.
