Richard K. Deppen, 71, of Reading, died December 9, 2012 in Berks Heim.
He was the husband of Charlotte A. (Wurster) Deppen, whom he married 49 years ago.
Born in Reading, he was a son of the late Chester W. and Leda (Keller) Deppen.
He was a 1958 graduate of Wyomissing High School, attended Kutztown State College and graduated from McCann School of Business.
Richard worked at UGI as a data programmer analyst for 37 years, retiring in 2001.
He was a committee chairman for the United Way and a former president of the Quarter Century Club, both through UGI. He was an advisor for Explorer Post 278, Reading and a member of Clover Park AA, Shillington.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his three children: Michele A., wife of Joseph Lynch, Blandon; Christine E., wife of Jimmie Brendle, Reading and Suzy R., wife of Steven Lysczek, Mt. Penn. Also surviving is his granddaughter, Katie Lynch.
Richard was predeceased by his brother, Ronald L. Deppen.
A visitation will be Thursday from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Ave, West Reading. Graveside Services and Burial will be at 1 p.m. in Forest Hills Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 237 Court St., Reading, PA 19601.
