Richard G. Beane

Richard G. Beane, 73, died August 13, 2012, in his Wyomissing residence.

His wife, BettyLou (Steinmetz) Beane, died April 26, 1999.

Born in Reading, he was a son of the late Harold M. and Frances E. (Jachle) Beane.

He was a 1957 graduate of Reading High School.

Richard was a U.S. Navy veteran serving on the USS Orion.

He was employed as a cabinet maker by Birchcraft Kitchens, Reading. He later worked in building maintenance for Maier's Bakery until his retirement.

Richard was a longtime member of Chateau Rod and Gun Club, Tioga County.

He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and their sporting events. He will be sadly missed by those who knew him as 'Pop Pop Beane"

Richard is survived by two sons, James A., husband of Jennifer L. Beane, West Reading and Steven G. Beane, husband of Denise M. Weaver, Wernersville; his sister, Janet Harakal, Greenfields; five grandchildren: Hunter, Autumn, Trevor, Caleb and Gracie.

He was predeceased by two brothers, Harold Beane and Robert Beane.

Services will be Thursday at 1:00 p.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Ave., West Reading, PA 19611. Burial will be in Charles Evans Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
