Richard loved to travel with Mary, who will treasure memories of their trips to Bermuda and the coast of Maine. He was also an avid gardener, known for growing the best cantaloupe melons around, which he and Mary shared readily with friends and neighbors.

Richard was a member of the Church of St. Benedict in Mohnton.

In addition to his wife, Mary, Richard is survived by a sister, Katherine Stachula, and her husband James of St. Louis Missouri, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brothers: Michael, Henry, and the Reverend Father George Aschenbrenner.
