Richard Klein

Richard A. "Rich" Klein, 89, passed away on Sunday, November 30, 2025 at Phoebe Berks, where he resided. He was the beloved husband of Lynda (Lengel) Klein. They married on August 14, 1982, and shared 42 wonderful years together until her passing in 2024. They married on August 14, 1982, and shared 42 wonderful years together until her passing in 2024.

Born in West Reading, he was the son of the late Arthur H. and R. Madeline (Dubbs) Klein. He graduated from West Reading High School, and Albright College. He worked as an accountant for Agere Systems until his retirement in 2002. Rich was also a proud U.S. Army Veteran. He attended Guided Missiles School at Red Stone Post in Alabama, and served as a Marksman.

Rich was a member of Bethany Lutheran and enjoyed going to services. He also had a deep passion and appreciation for trains, and history. When he and Lynda traveled, they enjoyed taking train rides when possible. He was a 50 year member of the National Railroad Historical Society.

Those cherishing Rich's memory are his stepson, George A. Fitzgerald; his grandchildren: Christina Cole (Alex), and Matthew Fitzgerald (Megan); and three great-grandchildren; as well as several family members. He is predeceased by his stepson, Edward P. Fitzgerald.

A memorial service for Rich will be held on Saturday, December 6, 2025 at 11 a.m. at Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, 739 Penn Ave, West Reading, PA 19611, with burial to follow in Laureldale Cemetery. Family and friends are welcome to gather from 10 a.m. until the beginning of the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations maybe made in Rich's honor to Bethany Lutheran Church at 336 Franklin St, West Reading, PA 19611.
