Richard A. Correll, born January 14, 1923, 93, of Keystone Villa at Blandon, passed away, Saturday, December 31, 2016, in Reading Hospital.
He is survived by his wife, Alvera N. (Digiustili) Correll.
Born in Reading, he was the son of the late LeRoy W. and Emma (Moyer) Correll.
Richard was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church, Berkshire Heights.
He was a U.S. Marine Corps. veteran serving in the 1st Division during World War II. Richard was a lifetime member of the 1st Marine Division National Association and, the Butterwick Marine Corps. League, Reading.
Richard worked as a salesman for 27 years at Armour & Company, Reading. Most recently, he was a messenger for the former Berks County Bank.
In addition to his wife, Richard is survived by a daughter, Susan E. Correll-Smith, Lincoln Park and her ex-husband, Gerald Smith. He will be especially missed by his two granddaughters, Erin, wife of Troy Fisher, and Megan Smith.
Richard had two brothers, Robert S. and Ronald Correll, and three sisters, Mae (Correll) Lutz, Maryann (Correll) Killian, and Barbara (Correll) Tipsword.
A memorial service will be held Friday, January 6, 2017, at 11:30 a.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Avenue, West Reading, PA 19611. Friends may call one hour prior to the service in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Park. Online condolences may be recorded at www.kuhnfuneralhomes.com.
