Raymond E. Wise

Raymond E. Wise, Jr., 84, of Wyomissing, died November 15, 2009 in ManorCare of Sinking Spring, surrounded by his loving family.

He was the husband of Alona Jean (Corkins) Wise.

Born in Muir, he was a son of the late Raymond E. and Madie R. (Koons) Wise.

He was a 1943 graduate of Porter Township High School, Reinerton.

Raymond was employed for 39 years as a foreman for the Dana Corporation, retiring in 1988. He then worked for Pioneer Pontiac until 1992 and Hechinger Home Improvement until 1996. He was also a teacher and Sunday School Superintendent for St. Matthews U.C.C., Kenhorst.

He was a member of Kissinger's Lutheran Church, Wyomissing.

Raymond was a U.S. Army veteran. He was a paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne, completing 17 jumps during WWII, including the Battle of the Bulge.

He was a member of the Masons, St. John's Lodge #435, serving as a past master in 1971.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his two daughters: Brooke W., wife of Samuel L. Koons, Jr., Fairfax, VA; Kimberly Wise Foster, Reston, VA; his two step daughters: Traci, wife of Richard Arnold, Kenhorst; Deborah, wife of Michael Yeity, Wyomissing and his step son: Kirk Klinger, Madison, IN. Also surviving is his brother, Lee, widower of Patricia Wise, Temple. Three grandchildren: Heather Cutler, Meridyth Cutler, Jordan Wise Foster and seven step grandchildren: Ashley Arnold, Bradley Arnold, Christopher Yeity, Gregory Yeity, Samantha Yeity, Roman Klinger and Rachel Klinger also survive him.

Raymond was predeceased by his brother, Gene Wise, in 1983 and his first wife, Constance (Budd) Wise in 2005.

A Memorial Service will be Saturday at 11 a.m. in Kissinger's Lutheran Church, 715 Berkshire Blvd., Wyomissing.
