Raymond G. Sewell

Raymond G. Sewell, 58, died December 30, 2010 in his Spring Township residence.

He was the husband of Donna G. (Geiss) Sewell. They were married on June 17, 1978.

Born in Baltimore, MD, he was a son of William J. Sewell, Baltimore, MD and the late Catherine V. (Malczewski) Sewell.

He was a 1974 graduate of Drexel University, where he received a B.S. in Electrical Engineering. He was a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity. He remained active with the fraternity as a province archon for Eastern Pennsylvania, Delaware and New Jersey. He was awarded the Distinguished Service Award for his many years of service to the fraternity.

Raymond was employed by Foreman Construction Manager, Manheim from 1995 to 2010 as their Project Executive. He previously worked for Limerick Generating Station with Bechtel Power Corporation from 1977 to 1992.

Raymond was in the Wilson marching band pit crew for eight years. He also coached for 11 years in the Wilson Jr. Soccer Club.

He was a member of St. John Baptist de la Salle Roman Catholic Church, Shillington, where he was Eucharistic Minister for 24 years, and a CCD teacher.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his three children, R. Douglas, husband of Marcia L. Sewell, Wyomissing, Mark S. Sewell, and Elissa M. Sewell, both at home. There are also three siblings, Patricia A., wife of James Tudor, Andrew C., husband of Debbie Sewell and R. Dale Sewell all of Baltimore, MD; three sisters-in-law, Kathi, wife of William Caffrey, Jan, wife of Gregory Trievel and Laurie, wife of John Cummings; his brother-in-law, Larry, husband of Barbara Geiss; his mother-in-law, Nancy Geiss; 16 nieces and nephews; one great-niece, and two great-nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday January 8, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. in St. John's Church, 420 Holland St., Shillington, PA 19607 Burial will be in Mohnsville Cemetery. Friends may call Friday from 5 to 9 p.m. and Saturday from 8:15 to 9:15 a.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading. Contributions may be made to: Zion EC Church Relay for Life Team, N.
