Raymond V. "Duke" Reis, Jr., 78, of Sinking Spring, passed away after a year long battle with lung cancer on January 11, 2013 in The Reading Hospital and Medical Center.
His wife, Maryann "Molly" (Weaver) Reis, died in 2006.
Born in Pittsburgh, he was a son of the late Raymond V. Reis, Sr. and Edna (Ebbert) Reis.
He was a 1952 graduate of Fountain Hill High School and attended Wyomissing Polytechnical Institute.
Raymond was a supervisor for Forino Construction Co., LP., retiring in 1999.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Reading.
Raymond was a U.S. Army veteran.
He is survived by his sons: David M., husband of Beth Reis, Womelsdorf and Michael D. Reis, Lebanon. Six grandchildren also survive him.
Raymond was predeceased by his brother, Robert Reis.
A Celebration of Life will be held for both Duke and Molly on Monday at 7 p.m. in the Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Ave., West Reading. A visitation will be 6 to 7 p.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, 498 Bellevue Ave., Reading, PA 19605.
