Raymond W. Rader, 85 of Sinking Spring, passed away August 21st at Manor Care Sinking Spring.

He was predeceased by his first wife of 28 years, Virginia Orrs and his second wife of 25 years, Madeline Stanislaw whom he called his little angels.

Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Raymond F. and Ethel (Reinohle) Rader.

Raymond was an Army veteran for seven years and served two tours during the Korean Conflict.

He was employed as a tire builder with Firestone, Pottstown, for over 30 years.

Raymond loved hunting, fishing and his family.

Raymond is survived by three sons and three daughters: Raymond S. Rader, Sr. husband of Cherlyn H., Reading; Bruce Rader, husband of Lorraine Radion, Tarentum, PA; Eric Rader, Ephrata, Lynn Giles, Phoenix, AZ; Suanne Levengood, Reading and Brenda Leh, wife of Randy, Reading.

Other survivors include one brother: Norman Rader, Lebanon and four sisters: June Williams, Lancaster; Rae Fowler, Millsboro, DE; Joyce Cmheil, Middleton, OH and Dorothy Hartman, Reading. There are also 14 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. He was especially fond of his grandson Brian Rader whom he and his first wife raised.

He was predeceased by a brother: Paul Rader, and three sisters: Betty Snyder, Ethel Lape and Patricia Rudy.

A visitation will be held, Monday, August 31 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to: Purple Heart Service Foundation, PO Box 49, 7008 Little River Turnpike, Annandale, VA 22003.
