Raymond Guti

Raymond "Ray" Guti Sr., 92, passed away on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at St. Joeseph's Hospital in Reading.

Raymond was born in Pittsburgh on May 28, 1932, and grew up alongside his late brother, Al, and his two sisters, Margaret and Joanne. Ray graduated from high school and departed shortly after to serve the United States Army in the Korean War.

After departing the service in 1958, Ray married the love of his life, Arlene (Pelker) Guti, with whom he shared five children; Robin Leonti, wife of Gary, Jerry Guti, husband of Stephanie, Todd Guti, Ruth Laity, wife of John, and Raymond Guti Jr. Ray was also blessed with 13 grandchildren; Tanya, Shawn, Brandon, Steven, Jerry Jr., Tabitha, Ethan, Korey, John Andrew, Amanda, Jessica, Aurora, and Samantha; and several great- and great-great-grandchildren.

Ray worked as a laborer for ExxonMobil, General Battery, and Narrow Fabric throughout his life. He also worked as a police officer in Reading. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family. He will be missed dearly by his family and all those who knew him.
