Raymond G. Montgomery

Raymond G. Montgomery, 81, died Sunday, September 6, 2015 at Belle Haven Nursing Home, Quakertown. He was the husband of Virginia (Ritter) Montgomery.

Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Raymond and Dorothy (Wynn) Montgomery. He was a 1951 graduate of Reading High School.

He was a meat cutter and grocery store manager for a total of 40 years. Most of his career was spent with Acme Markets in Berks and Bucks County including West Reading, Boyertown and Quakertown. He attended Grace Bible Fellowship Church, Quakertown.

Ray was an avid golfer and bowler. He enjoyed watching high school football and baseball games and was a loyal fan of the Eagles and the Phillies. He loved nature, country music, the beach and traveling locally, especially to the Amish country.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Scott, husband of Cindy, Mohnton; his daughter, Debra (Montgomery) Santore, wife of Gary, Matthews, N.C.; his grandchildren, Matthew, Alicia, Kelly, and Le Shea; and his niece, Barbara Eisenhart, wife of Leonard, who provided wonderful care to Ray. He was predeceased by a brother, Ronald, and a sister, Jean.
