Ray Percy Seaman

Ray P. Seaman, 96, formerly of Shoemakersville, passed away on Sunday, December 6, 2020 at Maidencreek Place, Reading. He was the loving husband of the late Betty J. (Kauffman) Seaman.

Born in Tilden Township on August 12, 1924, he was the son of the late Walter M. and Mamie E. (Miller) Seaman. He was a 1942 graduate of Hamburg High School.

Ray worked as a Group Supervisor with MetEd for 39 years until retirement in 1987. He was a lifelong member of St. Michael's Church where he served on the church council, as Sunday School Superintendent and sang in the choir. He was a past Vice-President of St. Michael's Cemetery Board. Ray was a member of Vaux Lodge 406, a lifelong member of Shoemakersville Fire Co. and a member of Shoemakersville Senior Center.

Surviving are Ray's two daughters, Luann R. Seaman and Lorie B. Seaman, both of Lewes, DE, and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, and his wife, Betty; Ray is predeceased by his two brothers, Luke D. and Mark M. Seaman.

Ray's family would like to extend a special thank you to the caring staff at Maidencreek Place and Caring Hospice Services.

Services for Ray will be Tuesday, Dec. 15, 2020 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Michael's Church, 529 St. Michael's Rd., Hamburg, PA 19526 with his pastor, Rev. Paul Buzzard officiating. A viewing will be on Tuesday in the church prior to the service from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Ray will be laid to rest beside Betty in St. Michael's Cemetery. Due to the Worldwide Pandemic, we ask that social distancing still be practiced. Face coverings and hand sanitation are mandatory.
