Ray G. Reed

Ray G. Reed, 73, formerly of Hyde Park and of Temple died March 30 in St. Joseph's Hospital where he had been a patient since Monday.

His wife Joan V. (Swavely) Reed died November 27, 1974.

Born in Waynesboro, VA, he was the son of the late Eugene and Lottie (Carroll) Reed.

He was employed for 31 years by Exide Technologies, Laureldale, PA retiring in 1994.

Reed is survived by 5 sons Dwight L. Tinsley, Churchville, VA; Glenn A. Reed, Jeffrey S. Reed, both of Reading; Steven D. Reed, Oley; and Gregory T. Reed, Laureldale. There are 2 daughters Karen S. (Reed) Kline, Temple and Cheryl A. (Reed) Leese, Reading.

He is also survived by two brothers Eugene "Sonny" Reed and Charles "Willie" Reed and two sisters Barbara (Reed) Ross and Brenda (Reed) Connor, all of Waynesboro, VA. Other survivors include 8 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

Services will be Friday at 7 PM in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., Laureldale. Graveside Services will be Saturday at 12:15 PM in Forest Hills Memorial Park.
