Ray J. Luckenbill, 91, of Wernersville, went into the arms of his Lord at Phoebe Berks on November 23, 2015.
Born in Kutztown, he was a son of the late Jerry and Lavada (Heffner) Luckenbill.
His wife, Mildred (Hettinger) Luckenbill died on November 25, 2001.
Ray was a 1943 graduate of Kutztown High School. He attended his 72nd class reunion in June.
He was employed by George F. Briner and Son Butcher Shop from 1951-1968, and Banco's Market, and Sammy's Store from 1968 until he totally retired in 2013. He had a career as a meat-cutter for 65 years.
Ray was a long-time member of Atonement Lutheran Church.
He was also a member of the Sinking Spring, Blandon, Kutztown and Wernersville Fire Companies.
Ray was an avid bowler.
His pride and joy was his plush green grass; he called it his "carpet" and his 3-60 years old well-trimmed trees which he took care of until health issues forced him to turn that job over to his grandson.
Ray is survived by his children, Gary R., husband of Kay Luckenbill, Elizabethtown and Sandra L., wife of Frederick Miller, Shillington; five grandchildren; Tammy, wife of William S. Arner; Michael, husband of Tammy Miller; Kevin, husband of Jennifer Miller; Amy, wife of Matthew Fuddy and Erica, wife of Matthew Roberts; nine precious great-grandchildren: Tori; Carli; Oliva; Michael; Tabitha; Magnolia; Lily; Cole and his newest addition, little Blake and his sister-in-law, Jeanette Hettinger.
