Ray V. Cranmer

Ray Vance Cranmer, 72, of Muhlenberg Township, died November 6, 2006 at 3:35 pm in The Reading Hospital and Medical Center, where he had been a patient since October 19th.

He was the husband of Patricia Louise (Arra) Cranmer, whom he married October 8, 1960.

Born August 3, 1934 in Butler, Pennsylvania, he was a son of the late Clarence Everett and Stella Elizabeth (Swope) Cranmer.

He was a 1952 graduate of Butler High School and a 1958 graduate of Milwaukee School of Engineering.

Ray was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, Reading.

He was an Air Force Veteran of the Korean War.

Ray was a member of the Muhlenberg Lions Club, Telephone Pioneers and the Mid-Atlantic Basenji Club.

He was employed 37 years with Bell Labs, Muhlenberg Township, before retiring as a Senior Technical Aide in 1996.

Ray is also survived by a son, Donald C. Cranmer of Muhlenberg Township and two daughters, Kim C. (Cranmer) wife of Michael Marsh of Spring Township and LeeBeth Cranmer of Muhlenberg Township.

Other survivors include two sisters, Kathryn (Cranmer) widow of James Minehart of Butler, PA., and Donna (Cranmer) wife of William Holbein of West Sunbury, PA., and a sister-in-law; Lois (Nebel) widow of Dale Cranmer of West Sunbury, PA.

There are several nieces and nephews surviving.

Services will be held Thursday at 10:00 am in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., Laureldale with the Rev. Dr. David A. Knotts officiating. Viewing will be one hour prior to services. Burial will be in Laureldale Cemetery, Muhlenberg Township.
