Randy L. Brown

Randy L. Brown, 61, of West Lawn, died June 15, 2012 in Reading Hospital.

He was the husband of Stephanie J. (Kalaras) Brown. They were married on September 26, 1971.

Born in Reading, he was a son of the late Harry D., Jr. and June L. (Hassler) Brown.

He was a veteran of the US Army.

Randy was a life-long painter. He worked for V.F. Outlet, Wilson School District and most recently for Wernersville State Hospital, where he was last working in January. He also owned his own painting business during the 1990's.

He was a member of Atonement Lutheran Church, Wyomissing.

He was a fan of the New York Yankees and New York Giants and enjoyed fishing. It always gave Randy great pleasure when he could make people laugh.

A devout reader of philosophy, he was a self-taught and self- made man.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his three children, Matthew D., husband of Juliet Brown, Wyomissing; Gregory B. Brown, Spring Twp.; and Meghan L., wife of Kirk Hummel, Cumru Twp. There are four siblings, Harry D. Brown, III, Cumru Twp., Donald L. Brown, Spring Twp., Florine L. Wolf, Womelsdorf and Jimmy Brown, Reading. Two grandchildren, Julie Brown and Maxwell Brown; and one great-grandson Lucas also survive him.

Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Shillington. Friends may call Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 10:30 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
