Randolph L. Smallwood, Jr., 78, of Exeter Township died February 19, 2012 in St. Joseph Medical Center.

Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Randolph L., Sr. and Enid L. (Card) Smallwood.

He was a 1951 graduate of Tredyffrin East High School, Berwyn; a 1955 graduate of Franklin & Marshall College, Lancaster, earning a B.S. in Economics and pursued graduate work at Penn State University, University Park.

Randy was proud of his extensive work history. His former employers included: New Holland Machine Company (1957-1959); Armstrong Cork Company, Lancaster (1959-1961); Metropolitan Edison Company, Reading (1966-1968); Frigidaire Appliance Division of General Motors, Dayton, OH (1966-1968); Girard Bank (Mellon), Philadelphia (1968-1972); Sherwin Williams Company, Philadelphia (1972-1978) and PPG Industries (Pittsburgh Paints) Pittsburgh (1978-1983). He retired as a marketing manager and consultant for RLS Associates. In retirement, Randy worked for Forty-Plus, Philadelphia, as an executive director, helping Forty-Plus establish training and placement programs to reintroduce executives to businesses. Randy was a manager, consultant, independent contractor, bank officer and company representative. His hard work and dedication to detail left a lasting impact on all the companies he served.

Randy was a U.S. Army veteran. He was a Test Rating Examiner in the Army Education Center as well as a PIO Reporter while stationed at Fort Meade, MD.

He is survived by his two children: Randolph L., III, husband of Ingrid Smallwood, Phoenixville and Kathleen L. Smallwood, King of Prussia. Also surviving is his grandson, Michael Smallwood.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in the Washington Memorial Chapel, Valley Forge. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 2900 Rocky Point Dr., Tampa, FL 33607. Edward J.
