Randolph S. Dougherty

Randolph Scott Dougherty, 46, of 2231 Hampden Blvd, Apt I-2, Muhlenberg Township, Reading, Pa 19604 (Oak Forest Apartments) died July 17th at 8:50 pm in the St. Joseph Medical Center where he had been since July 14th.

He was the husband of Susan Jean (Knowles) Dougherty.

Born in Allentown, he was a son of Richard A. Sr., and Joan D. (Dougherty) Heller of 641 North 10th Street, Allentown.

He worked for a number of years as a maintenance worker for the Oak Forest Apartments, Muhlenberg Township, last working in May.

Dougherty was a Army Veteran.

He is also survived by a son, Shawn Snyder of Catasauqua, Lehigh County and three daughters; Jennifer N. Dougherty of Muhlenberg Township, Amanda L. Dougherty of Minersville, Schuylkill County and Siobhan L. Dougherty of Muhlenberg Township.

Other survivors include two brothers, Richard A. Heller Jr., of Allentown and Jimmy D. Heller of Lancaster and three sisters; Mary Lou (Heller) Kurapka of Allentown, Diane L. Heller of Allentown and Tammy L. (Heller) Grimm of Dover, Delaware.

There is also a granddaughter, Jasa Strunk of Minersville, Schuylkill County.

He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Services will be Tuesday 10:00 am in the Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., Laureldale. Rev. Richard Clement officiating. Viewing will be Monday evening 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery, Muhlenberg Township. Contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, 491 Bellevue Avenue, Reading, Pa 19605.
