Ralph P. Riegel

Ralph P. Riegel, 83 of Wyomissing, died November 8, 2009 in Reading Hospital.

He was the husband of Leah A. (Deck) Riegel.

Born in Shartlesville, he was a son of the late Robert P. and Tamah S. (Blatt) Riegel.

He was a graduate of Ontelaunee High School and attended Reading Business Institute.

Ralph began his career as an inspector for Textile Machine Works for ten years. Later, he managed and owned several service stations from 1961 to 1974. He concluded his career at W.R. Strunk, Reading for 17 years, retiring in 1991.

He was a member of Holy Spirit Lutheran Church.

Ralph was a member of Reading Elks 115, where he volunteered in various capacities for many years.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by five children, Rodney L., husband of Amy, Shillington; Cynthia L. Eisenbise, Wernersville; Gary B., Reading, David A., husband of Marie, Exeter Township and Steven C., Pomona, N.J.

He is also survived by two brothers, Robert, Centerport and Bruce, Mohrsville; six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.

Ralph was predeceased by his brother, Richard Riegel.

Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading. Burial will be in Christ's Evangelical Lutheran Church Cemetery, Stouchsburg.
