Ralph R. Hoffman

Ralph Richard Hoffman, devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend, died September 19, 2007 at the age of 67 in his Muhlenberg Township home after a long battle with Pancreatic Cancer.

Mr. Hoffman is survived by his wife Ann Elizabeth (Reitnauer) Hoffman, whom he married on October 15, 1960.

Born January 29, 1940 in Reading, he was a son of the late Ralph George and Anna May (McGovern) Hoffman.

He was a 1957 graduate of Reading High School.

Ralph was employed with Acme Markets for 41 years where he traveled between several store locations, last working in Wyomissing before retiring in 1997 as an Assistant Manager. Ralph also worked part-time at the Woolrich Outlet for 5 years.

Ralph is also survived by two daughters, Kimberly A., wife of Patrick A. Zizza of Muhlenberg Township and Karen A., Hockenberry of Newville, PA, and his two grandchildren, Bryanna K. Hockenberry and Alivia Evangeline Hockenberry.

In addition, he is survived by a sister, Barbara A., wife of Norman A. Bosold of Spring Township and two brothers Kenneth M., husband of Paula Hoffman of Muhlenberg Township and David E. Hoffman of Lebanon.

He loved gardening, fishing, woodworking, camping, bird-watching, traveling in his R.V. with the Pagoda Campers and spending time with his grandchildren.

Services will be held Friday at 10:00 am in the Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Rd., Laureldale with the Reverend Carol J. Bowman officiating. A viewing will be held from 9:00 am to 10:00 am in the funeral home. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Exeter Township.
