Ralph I. Kofroth

Ralph I. "Rainbow Rocker" Kofroth, 71, of Reading, died November 23 at 10:25 a.m. in Phoebe Berks Skilled Care Unit where he had been since November 16.

Born in Reading he was the son of the late Ralph L. and Eleanor V. (Spatz) Kofroth.

He was a Senior Chief Petty Officer serving in the U.S. Navy for 22 years retiring in February 1974. He was a veteran of both the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He was later employed by Muhlenberg School District for 19 years as the custodial ground keeper retiring in August of 1993.

Kofroth was a graduate of Reading High School in 1952.

He is survived by two sons, Ralph I., Jr., Hyde Park and Jeffrey M. Takoma, Washington and two daughters, Karen M. (Kofroth) Roest, Kenosha, Wisconsin and V. Theresa (Kofroth) Baxter, Cameron, NC. There is also one brother Roger A. Kofroth, Exeter Twp. and one sister Virginia A. (Kofroth) Homan, Reading. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Schuylkill River Greenway 140 College Drive Pottstown, PA 19464. Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., Laureldale is in charge of arrangements.
