Ralph A. Ginter, 73, of Spring Township died September 11, 2008 at 6:35 a.m. in Ephrata Community Hospital.
He was the husband of Kathryn H. (Hill) Ginter.
Born February 5, 1935 in West Haven, CT, he was a son of the late Julius and Ella (Maass) Ginter.
Ralph was employed as an electrical engineer for Bechtel Corporation in Gaithersburg, MD and later as a professional truck driver for H.R. Ewell, Inc. in East Earl, PA for ten years retiring in 2005.
He served in the U.S. Coast Guard from 1953-1964.
Ralph served on joint services honor guard, for General Douglass McArthur and President John F. Kennedy during his Coast Guard duty.
He loved his family, his dog Cricket, and the sea. He and Kate especially enjoyed their camping adventures and his family rendezvous.
Surviving are four children, Kurt F., husband of Karen (O'Brien) Ginter of Flying Hills; Erika B., wife of Keir Sayenga of Wernersville; Tracey E., wife of Randy Bowman of Hammond, WI and Rebecca A., wife of Chuck Barbeau of Menominee, WI.
In addition there are six grandchildren, Owen, Laura, Tammy, Jenny, Charles and Benjamin and five great grandchildren.
Ralph was predeceased by a sister Beatrice M. (Ginter) Bennett. Other survivors include a nephew William R. Bennett and nieces Linda Leconey and Ellen Bennetto and their respective families.
Memorial Services will be held Wednesday at 7 p.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Avenue, West Reading. Friends may call Wednesday 5:30 to 7 p.m. in the funeral home.
