Ralph C. Giles, Jr., 77, of Wyomissing, died January 26, 2007 at 5:02 pm in the Reading Hospital and Medical Center, where he had been a patient since January 25th.

He was married to Nancy L. (Stetler) Giles on July 20, 1975. He was predeceased by his first wife, Jacqueline (Auge) Giles, who died in 1973.

Born January 21, 1930, in Reading, he was a son of the late Ralph C. Sr., and Edith (Eisenbise) Giles.

He was a 1947 graduate of Wilson High School.

Ralph was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church, Wyomissing.

He was employed 38 years as a truck driver with the Reading Paper Board, retiring in 1993.

Ralph later was employed 10 years with the Reading Hospital as a part-time shuttle bus driver, last working in 2005.

He was a life member of the Berkshire Heights Fire Company where he served as Chief for 15 years and the Company President for 25 years.

Ralph is also survived by two daughters, Deborah L. Giles of Reading and Cathy A. (Giles) Weatherholtz of Wernersville.

Other survivors include a step-daughter, Theresa A. (Modano) Johnson of Reading and a step-son, Mark A. Modano of New York, NY.

He is also survived by a brother, Robert C. of Shillington and three sisters, Betty V. Bowers, of Wyomissing, Jane L. Boyer of Shillington and Mary Lou Sands of Exeter Twp.

There are eight grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.

Memorial services will be Saturday at 10 am in Calvary United Methodist Church, 831 North Wyomissing Blvd., Wyomissing, PA 19610. Burial will be private in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Exeter Township. Contributions may be made to church at the above address, or the PA Dialysis Clinic, 625 Spring Street, Wyomissing, PA 19610.
