Ralph J. Evans

Ralph Joseph Evans, 78, of 3309 Arlington Street, Laureldale, Pa 19605, died November 6th at 6:35 am in the Reading Hospital and Medical Center, where he had been since November 2nd.

He was the husband of Irene Agnes (Hildebrand) Evans.

Born in Laureldale, he was a son of the late George J. and Laura P. (Yoder) Evans.

He was a 1943 graduate of Muhlenberg High School.

Evans was a lineman for 26 years at Metropolitan Edison Company, Reading before retiring in 1985.

He was a Navy Veteran of WWII.

Evans is also survived by a daughter, Margaret A. (Evans) wife of Carl L. Bieber of Exeter Township.

Other survivors include three sons, Jerome P. of Alsace Township, David R. husband of Jill (Griffin) of Milford, Conn., and Dennis G. husband of Lois S. (Altopiedi) of South Coventry Township, Chester County.

He is also survived by a sister, Grace (Evans) Gehris of Temple and a brother, Richard Evans of Laureldale.

There are six grandchildren.

Services will be Tuesday at 2:00 pm in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., Laureldale. Rev. Grant A. Wickert officiating. Viewing Tuesday 1:00 pm until time of service. Burial will be private in Gethsemane Cemetery, Muhlenberg Township. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to American Diabetes Association, 2045 West Gate Drive., Suite 302, Bethlehem, Pa 18017.
