Ralph B. Christman

Ralph B. Christman, 92, of Walnut Woods, Boyertown, passed away February 4, 2013 in Reading Hospital & Medical Center.

He was married to the late Verna N. (Shafer) Christman.

Born in Oley, he was the son of the late Jonas and Mary (Bush) Christman.

Ralph proudly served in the United States Army during World War II in the 872nd Airborne Engineers.

He was a molder and crane operator at Eastern Foundry for 40 years.

Ralph was a life member of Oley Fire Company and was a volunteer fire fighter for 30 years. He was also a life member of Pike Township Sportsman Association.

He enjoyed tending to his vegetable garden and was an avid hunter.

Ralph is survived by his son, Larry E. Christman, husband of Jayne, Allentown.

He is also survived by three grandsons: Kevin D. Christman and wife Debby, Elliot B. Hess, and Ryan A. Hess, and a great granddaughter, Emily Rose Christman.

Ralph was predeceased by 12 brothers and sisters.

Services will be Friday at 11:00 am in Blankenbiller Funeral Home, 423 Main St., Oley, PA 19547. A viewing will be held from 10:00 am until time of the service. Burial will be in Friedens Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Friedens United Church of Christ, 337 Main St Oley, PA 19547.
