Rakesh Kumar Bhai

Rakesh Kumar Bhai, 71, passed away peacefully in Hershey Medical Center on December 24, 2021 at 1:23am. In his final moments, he was surrounded by his entire family.

Born in Ludhiana, India, he was the son of the late Amolak Raj Bhai and Pushpa Devi Bhai. On April 26, 1975, he married Davinder Kaur Behal. He is survived here in US by his wife, eldest son Rajiv, daughter Anujit, and youngest son Angad, daughter in law, Navdeep, brother-in-law, Jaspreet Singh, granddaughter Samaira, grandsons Amrit, Eknoor, and Sahibnoor. He is survived in India by his sister, Manju Arora, brothers Kamlesh Kumar Kalra, Gagan Bhai Kalra, Amarjeet Singh and all the extended family.

He graduated from Government College of Ludhiana with a special interest in Photography. Rakesh spoke fluent Hindi, Punjabi and English.

Rakesh worked as a realtor while in India. He always felt that more educational opportunities were available in USA, and wanted best for his children. He moved to the USA in 1994 and became a small business owner. Today, his eldest son is a Family Practice Physician, his daughter is an Internal Medicine Physician, and his youngest son is a Senior Program Manager.

He always placed his family as his first priority, and loved spending time with his grandchildren. He kept his family close knit not only here in US but also back home in India. His hobbies included listening to Shabad and Kirtan (Sikh Religion, Hymns), watching Bollywood movies (especially classics), exploring new technology & gadgets, and going for walks. He continued his passion for photography by taking pictures of nature and his family. He was a man of principle and a fighter. He was stubborn and never gave up on anything. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all who knew him.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday December 28, 2021 at the Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 5153 Kutztown Road Temple, PA 19560. A memorial service will be held at the Blue Mountain Gurdwara (Sikh Temple) 11 a.m. Wednesday December 29, 2021 at 362 Schubert Rd, Bethel, PA 19507.
