Rafael Rivera

Rafael Rivera, 82, passed away ____ surrounded by his loving family in his Wyomissing residence.

He was the husband of Marie D. (Hamilton) Rivera, whom he married January 10, 1954.

Born in Orocovis, Puerto Rico, he was a son of the late José and Carmela (Rosada) Rivera.

Rafael worked for Berks Products, retiring after 44 years. He then worked in the produce department of Weis Markets for 13 years.

He loved spending time with his family, having backyard cookouts, playing dominos with his siblings and watching the Phillies.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his five children: Ralph C., husband of Nancy E. Rivera, Sinking Spring; Mark A. Rivera, Schuylkill Haven; Miguel Rivera, Bernville; Elton M. Rivera, Wyomissing and Hope, widow of Michael D. Kirlin, Robesonia. Also surviving are four brothers, four sisters, nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by four siblings.

Services will be DAY at TIME in the Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Ave., West Reading. A viewing will be DAY from 6 to 8 p.m. and DAY from time to time(one hour prior to service).
