Rafael Romero Cantero

​Rafael Romero Cantero, 79, passed away Friday, August 8, 2025 at Reading Hospital. He was the husband of Sandra Lee (Stufflet) Cantero, with whom he shared 30 wonderful years before her passing in 2010.

Born in Puerto Rico, he was the son of the late Cristino Romero Lopez and Inocencia Cantero. He was employed for many years in foundry work for McConway & Torley, but he was a jack of all trades and did many different kinds of work over the course of his life.

Rafael was of the Catholic faith.

Rafael is survived by his ​daughter​, Alicia Lebron​, ​step-son, Thomas Scott Hafer, husband of Koe;​ and ​stepdaughter, Debbie Kantner, wife of WIlliam; granddaughter Mickie Hafer; grandsons: Scot Hafer, Brian Kantner, and Brad Kantner; and great grandchildren, Cole Kantner, and Lavinia Valentin.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 19, 2025 at 11:30 am in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc. 739 Penn Avenue West Reading, PA 19611. The family will receive friends and relatives from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Park.
