Dr. Robert W. Hertzog, a retired Reading dentist, died Jan. 31 at 11:35 a.m. in Country Meadows of Wyomissing, where he had resided since Dec. 4.
Hertzog, 82, Shillington, was predeceased by his wife, Pauline R. (LaRue) Hertzog, on Nov. 5, 2002.
He was a self-employed dentist for 26 years in Reading, retiring in 1976.
Hertzog provided dental services for residents of Berks Heim for 25 years until 1976.
Born in Reading, he was a son of the late John S. and Mary (Shannon) Hertzog.
Hertzog was a 1950 graduate of the University of Pennsylvania Dentistry School, Philadelphia, and attended Albright College.
He was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II.
Hertzog was a member of Immanuel United Church of Christ, Shillington.
Surviving are a son, Randolph B., Blandon; and two daughters, Constance H. (Hertzog) Gilbert, Spring Township, and Margaret A. (Hertzog) Strain, Greenwood, Del.
Other survivors include a brother, John D., Muhlenberg Township; and a sister, Jean (Hertzog) Potts, Dazell, S.C.
There are also eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by a son, Mitchell B. Hertzog, in 2000.
Services will be Friday at 1 p.m. in the Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home Inc., West Reading. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Adamstown.
