Priscilla K. Walsky

Priscilla K. (Kelting) Walsky, 89, of Wyomissing, passed away Monday, April 13, 2026, at the Reading Hospital.

Her husband, Lawrence A. Walsky, died on March 18, 2022.

Born in Plainfield, New Jersey, she was a daughter of the late George and Martha (Springer) Kelting.

She graduated from Cedar Crest College with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, and from Millersville State College with a master’s degree that enabled her to be a reading Specialist in the Wyomissing Area school district. Priscilla dedicated many years to the Wyomissing School District as a reading specialist and substitute teacher, positively impacting the lives of numerous students.

Family and faith were important to Priscilla as she was an active member of Bausman Memorial United Church of Christ, where she sang in the choir and clanged in the Bell Choir.

Priscilla will be fondly remembered as a devoted mother and grandmother, whose warmth and love enriched the lives of her family and everyone around her. A skilled homemaker, she excelled at quilting, needlework, knitting, and crocheting, creating numerous works for her family and some that were donated for organizational fundraising. She cherished the moments spent with her loved ones. In addition to her family commitments, Priscilla actively contributed to her community, serving on the board of the Historic Preservation Trust of Berks County and as a member of the Junior League of Reading. Priscilla was a cub scout den mother for all three of her sons: Eric L. Walsky, husband of Barbara; Andrew D. Walsky, husband of Sheila; and Edward G. Walsky, who passed away in 2009. She is also survived by her sister, Janet Dougherty, and three grandchildren: Owen E., Samantha J., and Liam A. Walsky. She was predeceased by her brother, Norman Kelting in 2015.

A celebration of her life will be held at Bausman Memorial UCC, 1064 Penn Ave., Wyomissing on Friday, April 17, 2026, at 11 a.m. with a visitation from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Reading Symphony Orchestra, one of her favorite local cultural interests. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading is in charge of arrangements. Condolences may be expressed at kuhnfuneralhomes.com.
