Phyllis C. Greth

Phyllis C. Greth, 85, of Bern Township, died November 20, 2012 in Berks Heim.

She was the wife of Joseph C. Greth whom she was married to for 63 years.

Born in Merrill, WI, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Alta (Bauman) Rathke.

She graduated from American Hospital, Chicago, IL, earning her Nursing degree.

Phyllis was a registered nurse for 38 years at Reading Hospital and Medical Center, retiring in May 1988.

She was an active member of Community of Faith United Methodist Church, Clermont, FL.

Phyllis loved playing bingo, sewing, cooking, and traveling across the country with her husband in their motor home.

In addition to her husband she is survived by her daughter, Gena R., wife of Kevin C. Howard, Sinking Spring and her brother, Kenneth Rathke, Green Bay, WI. Also surviving are five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her daughter, Denise L. Chambers and two brothers: Elroy Rathke and Ralph Rathke.

A Memorial Service will be Friday at 3:30 p.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Ave., West Reading. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
