Phyllis A. Gobright

Phyllis A. Gobright, 73, of Shillington, died January 31, 2010 in Reading Hospital.

Born in Reading, she was a daughter of the late Jack C. and Flora M. (Quinlan) Murphy.

She was a graduate of Central Catholic High School and Immaculata University where she earned a BA in English. She played varsity basketball at both schools and still holds various scoring records.

Phyllis was currently the Director of Operations for the Berks Regional Tennis Association. Previously, she had worked for 17 years as a bridal consultant for Victoria Bridal Shop, Sinking Spring.

She enjoyed volunteering for many years at Easter Seals.

Phyllis was a huge Philadelphia sports fan, especially the Phillies and Eagles.

She is survived by four children: John G., West Lawn; Julie A., wife of Tom Mastromarino, Jupiter, Fl.; Mike W., husband of Dee, Brandon, MS and Christopher M., husband of Lori, West Lawn; three siblings, Willa Distasi, St. Simon's Island, GA, Jack C. Murphy, Jr., and Judy Lynn, Wyomissing. Eight grandchildren, Jennifer Mastromarino Jessica Gobright, Gaby Mastromarino, Brandon Gobright, Conner Gobright, Samantha Gobright, Eric Mastromarino and Dillon Gobright also survive her.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 10 a.m. in Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, West Reading. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery.
