Phyllis Ann Mahony

Phyllis Ann (Sollas) Mahony passed away peacefully at The Highlands at Wyomissing PA on July 24, 2016. She was 87 years old.

Phyllis was born in Paterson NJ in 1928 to Nan and Thomas V. Sollas. She attended Benedictine Academy and Georgetown Visitation Junior College. She married A. David Mahony in 1954 with whom she raised 5 children in Ridgewood and Glen Rock NJ. She is survived by her husband David, her 5 children and their spouses Juliann of Santa Fe, NM, Arthur and his wife Namiko of Chesapeake, VA, Mark and his wife Eileen of Maplewood, NJ, Tom and his wife Michele of Wyomissing, PA and Meaghan and her husband John Mathews of Riverside, IL; 11 grandchildren - Kelly, Shauna, David, Caitlin, Matt, Kerry, Tom Jr., Catherine, Liam, Ciaran and Finbar and 3 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her twin brother Dr. Thomas V. Sollas Jr. of Point Pleasant, NJ and her sister Elizabeth Sibilia and Bobby Castellucia of Lakewood, NJ.

Phyllis was a devoted homemaker, and nothing pleased her more than a well-kept home and a beautifully set table (except a pair of Ferragamo shoes). She enjoyed spending time at Bay Head, NJ and was an active in many volunteer organizations: The Little Sisters of the Poor, Meals On Wheels, The Depot and Valley Hospital. She loved her weekly get together with old friends at Ridgewood Country Club.

Phyllis was a member of Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, West Reading, PA.

At Phyllis's request, she has been cremated and her memorial Mass will be private for family members.
