Photis Katsigiannis

Photis Katsigiannis, 85, died October 12, 2009, surrounded by his loving family in his Spring Township residence.

He was the husband of Olga (Bistigios) Katsigiannis.

Born in Katuna, Greece, he was a son of the late Nicholas and Joanne (Lountzis) Katsigiannis.

He was the owner and operator of ye olde Spring House for 21 years, retiring in 1990. Previously, he worked for Nick's Chat-A-While since immigrating to the United Stated in 1956.

Photis was a life long member and volunteer of Sts. Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church.

He was an avid gardener.

Photis served in the Grecian Military for two years.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Mary A., wife of Bill Tsakiris, Phoenix, AZ and his son, Nicholas, husband of Jennifer Katsigiannis, Schuylkill Haven; two brothers, Spiros N., husband of Angelique, Pennside and Paul N., husband of Katherine, Reiffton; and his sister, Tula Niko, Katuna, Greece. Three grandchildren, Christine Tsakiris, Alex Tsakiris and Tyler Katsigiannis also survive him.

Photis was predeceased by his sister, Shea Konopioutis.

Services will be Friday at 10 a.m. in Sts. Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church, 1001 East Wyomissing Blvd., Reading, PA 19611. Burial will be in Charles Evans Cemetery. Friends may call Friday from 9 to 10 a.m. in the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to: Sts.
