Phillip H. D'Amico, 50, died September 19, 2010 in his Spring Township residence after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

Born October 2, 1959, he was a son of the late Anthony A. "Gus" and Mary E. "Sis" (Hawkins)D'Amico.

Phillip was a 1978 graduate of Mechanicsburg High School. He graduated in 1980 from Harrisburg Area Community College with a degree in Food Service Management. He also completed continuing education courses in food services from Auburn Unversity. For the majority of his professional life, he was employed by Morrison HealthCare Food Services.

He loved to travel, especially to France, Germany, The Netherlands and the Caribbean. His spirit for adventure was never more apparent than when he flew from Logan Airport one week after the September 11th terrorist attacks.

Phillip also enjoyed entertaining friends and family at his home and was an excellent host.

Surviving is a sister, Margaret A. D'Amico, also of Spring Township. Other survivors include an aunt, Vivian Hawkins of Leesburg, Florida, several cousins and many good friends. Moose and Miss Sissy, his two cats, also survive him.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 11 a.m. in St. Margaret's R.C. Church, 925 Centre Avenue, Reading, PA 19601. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the Mass in the church. Burial will be private in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Mechanicsburg.
