Philip F. Harris

Philip F. Harris, Sr., 82, of Reading, died July 3, 2011 in St. Joseph Medical Center.

His wife, Catherine E. (Schittler) Harris, died March 4, 2000.

Born in Frackville, he was a son of the late William and Philopenia (Thomas) Harris.

He worked as a material handler for General Battery for 25 years.

Philip was an avid baseball fan, especially of the Phillies.

He is survived by his sons, Philip F., Jr., husband of Linda E. Harris, Reading; William E. Harris, Reading; his brother, Robert Harris, KS; his grandson, Philip F. Harris, III, Sinking Spring and his great-granddaughter, Jordan.

Philip was predeceased by nine brothers.

Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Rd., Laureldale. A viewing will be 10 to 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery, Dryville. Online condolences may be recorded at www.christfuneralhome.com
