Peter S. Patton, 51, formerly of Reading, passed away February 8, 2013 in Charlotte, North Carolina.

He was the husband of Lisa M. (Yourkavitch) Patton, whom he married almost 31 years ago on February 14, 1982.

Born in Reading, he was a son of Shirley (Pawling) Patton Whitmoyer, Waxhaw, NC and the late Pete (Charles Francis) Patton.

He was a graduate of Reading High and Randy Rick Beauty Academy where he graduated top of his class as Student of the Year.

Peter operated his own business Peter Patton Hair Studio since the year 2000. Previously he worked for Carpenter Technology Corporation and Esterly Burial Vaults.

He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran. He earned the title of Honor Man graduating at the top of his platoon in Parris Island, SC.

Peter loved riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle. He rode through most of the United States, across country and throughout the East Coast. He enjoyed many endurance rides some of which were with Iron Butt Association. Pete also played golf avidly once winning a club championship at Willow Hollow. He was once a member of Heidelberg CC. He was a Reading High football player achieving many accomplishments including Berks County Lineman of the Year as a junior in 1977. He's an East Reading native who enjoyed the sports and people of the community.

In addition to his wife and mother he is survived by his two sons: Jarod C. Patton, companion of Kendra Confer, Waxhaw, NC and Travis W. Patton, companion of Erin McKnight, Reading. Also surviving is his brother, Scott P. Patton, Waxhaw, North Carolina.

A Memorial Service will be Saturday at 4 p.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Ave., West Reading. A visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. in the funeral home. Online condolences may be recorded at www.kuhnfuneralhome.com.
