Peter P. Karish

Peter P. Karish, 96, formerly of Wyomissing Hills, died August 26, 2008 in Riderwood Retirement Nursing Home, Silver Spring, MD.

His wife, Marie B. (Schindlbeck) Karish died February 9, 1998.

Born in Biwabik, MN, he was a son of the late John and Johanna (Novylan) Karish.

He was first employed by Berkshire Knitting Mills as a knitter for 38 years retiring in 1962. Later, he worked for Penn Dot for 16 years retiring in 1980.

Mr. Karish was a life member of: the Berks County Firemen's Association, the Schuylkill Fire Co. and the 15th Ward Democratic Club.

He is survived by his daughter, Marie J. Lathbury, North Cape May, NJ and his two sons, Peter P., Palmyra and John F., State College. There is also one sister, Sophie Walters, Reading. Four grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren also survive him.

Services will be Friday at 1 p.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc. West Reading. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery. Friends may call from 12:30 to 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, mass cards would be appreciated. Online condolences may be recorded at www.kuhnfuneralhome.com.
