Peter Anthony Gable, 82, passed away on Friday, August 23, 2024, at the Mifflin Center. He was the loving companion of Robin Lebengood, with whom he shared 20 years.
Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Peter and Anna (Hajos) Gable. He graduated Reading High School in 1960 and attended York College before being drafted into the US Marines. He achieved the rank of Sergeant NCO, in charge of Marine development while stationed in Ville France; with an honorable discharge, he entered into management of training in Hilton Head, South Carolina. He had a long career in restaurant management specializing in corporate troubleshooting, notable establishments - Stokesay Castle, Seafood Shanty, and Sword and Shield. He was CEO of MRZ Power, selling industrial engines throughout the world. He was an avid trap shooter, car collector, and loved to travel to exotic places.
Peter is survived by daughter, Jennifer C. Ward, wife of Douglas A., of Douglassville; sister, Lucille Gable of Reading; niece, Audrey Bleiler of Kutztown; stepchildren, Fred Riccio, husband of Donna, of Mohnton, and Pamela Mazza, partner of Barry Anderson, of Blandon; grandchildren: Cortney Bowman, Nicole and Freddie Riccio, and Alex and Sarah Mazza; and great grandchildren, Elaina Bowman and Trey Paschall. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends, and by his beloved cat, Max. He was preceded in death by daughter Melissa C. Gable.
According to his wishes, services for Peter will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Cancer.org
