Peter Edward Chimenko, 39, of 915 Carsonia Avenue was killed July 30th when his car struck a tree at Antietam Road and Seidel Road in Alsace Township, officials said. He died of multiple injuries, and a certificate of accidental death was issued.
He was married May 29, 1993 to Sandra L. (Valle) Chimenko.
Born in West Reading, Pa he was a son of Edward R. and Karen M. (Barth) Chimenko of Spring Township.
Chimenko was a 1981 graduate of Mount Penn High School and a 1991 graduate of Alvernia College with a B.A. in History.
He was a salesman for a number of years at 7-Up of Deer Lake, Schuylkill County and last worked for five years as an independent Motor Route Carrier for the Reading Eagle Company last working Tuesday.
Chimenko is survived by a son; Ian P. Chimenko and two step-sons; Christopher L. Bretz and Brandon L. Bretz both at home.
He is also survived by a sister; Katherine E. (Chimenko) wife of Dennis Petricoin of Hemlock, NY.
Other survivors include his Paternal Grandfather; Roman Chimenko of Spring Township and his Maternal Grandmother; Eleanor (Richards) Barth of West Lawn.
Services will be Friday August 2nd at 11:00 a.m. in West Lawn United Methodist Church, Penn and Woodside Avenues. Burial will be private in Laureldale Cemetery, Tuckerton. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading, is in charge of arrangements. In Lieu of flowers contributions may be made to United Way, P.O. Box 702, Reading, Pa 19603.
