Peter Carroccio, 92 of Spring Township, died January 1 at 7:57 a.m. in Reading Hospital where he had been since December 4, 2005.
He was the husband of Jeanette G. "Jen" (Dadey) Carroccio.
Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Frank and Theresa (Chioffi) Carroccio.
Carroccio was employed by Rockwell International for 46 years retiring in 1976.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during World War II. He was a recipient of the Purple Heart and was in both the Battle of the Bulge and the D-Day invasion at Normandy.
Carroccio was a member of St. Ignatius Loyola Roman Catholic Church, Whitfield, where he served as an usher.
He is also survived by two daughters, Janet L. Carroccio and Nancy J. Carroccio both of Spring Township. There is also one granddaughter.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 9:30 a.m. in St. Ignatius Church. Burial in Gethsemane Cemetery. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading is in charge of arrangements. Friends may call Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. in the funeral home. Contributions may be made to St. Ignatius Church 2810 St. Albans Drive Sinking Spring, PA 19609.
