Peggy J. (Evans) Coleman, 80, of Reading, passed way April 15, 2008 in her daughter, Debbie Rader's home who lovingly cared for her in her final days.

She was the widow of Arthur L. Coleman Jr. who passed away March 18, 2001.

Born on August 21, 1927 in Shamokin, PA, she was a daughter of the late William and Mary (Bower) Evans.

Peggy is a 1945 graduate of Coal Township High School and attended the Reading Hospital School of Nursing.

She was a licensed practical nurse for the Community General Hospital and was also employed by Talbott Knitting Mills, Reading for 18 years as a supervisor, then worked part-time jobs because retirement was to "boring" for Peggy.

Peggy is survived by four daughters, Deborah J., wife of Barry D. Rader, Womelsdorf; Judy A., wife of Jim W. Orrs, Mohnton; Patricia L., wife of Jeffrey Law, Reading; Marybeth, wife of Joseph Torchia, Robesonia; and one son, Arthur L. Coleman, III., of Reading.

She is also survived by eleven grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren all of whom gave Peggy great joy in her life.

Peggy dedicated her entire life to her family- whether it was fishing on the Chesapeake with her husband, Art; or being a loving, guiding friend to her five children or a playmate to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Peggy was a devoted loving mother and grandmother. She always put others before herself. Peggy will be missed greatly by those whose lives she touched.

Peggy was predeceased by four siblings.

Memorial services will be on Friday at 11:00a.m. in the Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Ave. West Reading, PA 19611. Burial will be in Charles Evans Cemetery. Friends may call Friday 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Online condolences may be recorded at www.kuhnfuneralhome.com
