Pedro L. Agosto Sr., 64, of Moss Street, died of natural causes July 12 at 8:02 p.m. in St. Joseph Hospital.
He was the husband of Ada I. (Borrero) Agosto.
Born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, he was a son of the late Pedro and Juana (Delgado) Agosto.
Agosto was employed for 25 years as the head chef at Schwambach's Diner until 1990. He was then employed as a cook for eight years at Crystal Springs Restaurant, Sinking Spring, until his retirement in 1998.
He is also survived by two daughters, Mildred E. (Agosto) Oquendo, Reading, and Lucy I. (Agosto) Hertzog, Mohnton; and three sons: Pedro A. Jr., Shillington; Edwin, Temple; and Carlos L., Reading.
Other survivors include two sisters, Carmen (Agosto) Clemente, and Susie (Agosto) Santana, and two brothers, Jorge and Ariel, all of Reading.
There are also eight grandchildren.
Services will be Thursday at 10:30 a.m. in Kuhn Funeral Home Inc., West Reading. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Shillington.
